Fairmont Century Plaza’s Canine Ambassador Program

For guests missing their furry best friend while traveling, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts offer a distinctive service at select properties with resident hotel dogs known as “Canine Ambassadors.” Here in LA, the Fairmont Century Plaza continues this legacy of offering a warm paw and inviting tail wag to guests with the introduction of our newest ambassador, Laurel, a cheeky female black Labrador with a knack for making new friends.

Laurel, the only four-legged hotel team member at the Fairmont Century Plaza. Laurel is an 18- month old female black Labrador named for nearby Laurel Canyon, one of the city’s most beloved hiking destinations.

Laurel comes to Fairmont Century Plaza as a “dropout” from the Guide Dog Foundation, a Long Island, NY-based nonprofit organization that provides trained guide dogs to those who are blind or visually impaired. Although she did not receive her “dog-ree,” Laurel will be able to apply much of her training to her new role.

Visitors can find Laurel in the lobby and around the hotel daily from 10AM to 2PM.

Laurel’s first official order of business was eliminating all fees for future pet guests of Fairmont Century Plaza. She is currently the hotel’s official pet menu taste tester and reviewer of pet re-tail products, as well as scoping out the best pet-friendly spots in and around the hotel.

Upon opening, Laurel will serve as the welcome ambassador to both human and animal friends, will be available to join guests on walks, host “yappy hour” events with other pet friends, and of course pose on the red carpet for the pup-arazzi. Laurel enjoys sunning herself at Fairmont Century Plaza’s rooftop pool, belly rubs in the lobby, and bites of avocado toast at Lumière.
